Aztec Art (15)

Comments: Here is the back side of Coatlicue. In the background left is a modern color representation of the Piedra del Sol. The Coatlicue statue was found buried in Mexico City's central plaza, the Zócalo, at the end of the 18th century. To what degree can one say that it represents the sum of everything rejected by Renaissance Spanish civilization and humanities?
