Notes: Tula was known to its inhabitants at Tollán, which means "city of tules /reeds". From the top of the main pyramid we look over to another pyramid, with the modern city just beyond the perimeter of the archeological site. At the height of its power, Tollán/Tula covered six square miles and had an estimated population of about 40,000. Today the name of the town is Tula de Allende.
