La Catedral de Santo Domingo

Note: This is the center of the façade of the Catedral de Santo Domingo (1516), the oldest building in Spanish (i.e., non-pre-Columbian) Latin America. Notice the central Latin arches, the modified plateresque arches in the windows to the upper right and upper left, the simple, elegant design around the statues, the harmony and balance of the elements. All combine to make this a beautiful example of Spanish Renaissance style in the Americas.
